COLOGNE, Germany: Undisputedly, digital technologies enhance the work in dental practices and laboratories. However, there was no complete solution that connects the digital dots in dental clinics. When 3Shape released 3Shape Unite in 2021, it revolutionised the way dental professionals work. The new open platform brought world-leading dental companies, solutions and laboratories together and allowed dental professionals to manage all their cases seamlessly and efficiently. It also opened up a world of opportunities with thousands of Unite Store apps.

Commenting on its value, 3Shape Unite user Dr Simon Kold, who owns Herning Implant Center in Denmark, said that Unite had enabled his clinic to stay ahead and that before Unite trying to align all the different digital technologies had been a drain on the clinic’s resources.

Last year, 3Shape released TRIOS 5, the new generation of its flagship intra-oral scanner for dental practices. TRIOS 5 was designed for improved hygiene, next-level ergonomics and effortless scanning.

This year, 3Shape continues its mission to provide truly connected, integrated solutions designed to optimise how dental professionals work. At this year’s International Dental Show (IDS), 3Shape is unveiling its laboratory management software, 3Shape LMS, and the 3Shape F8 all-new laboratory scanner.

According to 3Shape, a distinctive feature of all the new products is that they were designed based on direct input from dental experts and with the goal of advancing and connecting dental workflows between clinics and laboratories. Together, they serve a broader single purpose: to improve the patient experience.

3Shape’s products feature advanced technology that allows users to better use their skills, knowledge, experience and creativity. They connect clinics with laboratories, seamlessly connect with third-party software and connect dental professionals with their peers around the world, allowing dental professionals to work smarter through efficient, enhanced and integrated workflows.

“Every 3Shape solution is the result of us working together with dental and lab technicians. The 3Shape F8 scanner, for example, was six years in the making. It came not only from our designers and engineers, but also from lab technicians themselves. 3Shape interviewed hundreds of lab employees around the world to find out exactly what challenges they face, and what solutions would best remedy them,” said Dr Rune Fisker, 3Shape’s vice president of product strategy.

He continued: “The same approach was used for the groundbreaking TRIOS 5 intra-oral scanner, for 3Shape LMS and for 3Shape Unite. They are all solutions that spring from meaningful collaboration, and they help drive dental industry standards higher.”

The 3Shape booth (#J098/K099) is located in Hall 4.2 at IDS 2023.
