COLOGNE, Germany: French group ACTEON is currently presenting its new range of products at the International Dental Show (IDS). In several years, the specialist in medical devices has risen to the ranks of the major competitors in global medical and dental high-technology markets by providing professionals with efficient solutions for both diagnosis and treatment with the aim of making procedures more selective and less invasive.

ACTEON products are the result of a sustained research and development programme and designed to anticipate the needs of dentists throughout the world. With 391 patents, the ACTEON Group produces high-tech devices that help improve the way in which dentists and surgeons treat patients and that reduce pain through minimally invasive techniques that offer faster, more natural results without postoperative trauma.

Among the innovations that will be previewed by ACTEON at IDS are

  • Qualios, a biomaterial with a unique structure, especially propitious for bone regeneration
  • Trium, a 3-D scanner that assesses bone density to facilitate implant planning
  • A new generation of Piezotome, the ultrasonic bone surgery appliance from ACTEON, sporting a fresh design and greater efficiency and ergonomics
  • A completely new version of ACTEON’s imaging software for computers and mobile devices (iOS and Android smartphones and tablets) to provide mobility and thus facilitate interaction with the patient when explaining the diagnosis and the surgical solution proposed.

To support users in mastering these advanced technologies, ACTEON deploys high-level training programmes. In 2016, more than 700 practical courses worldwide enabled about 12,000 dental professionals to undertake training through mentoring by their peers, specialists in minimally invasive dentistry techniques in the fields of periodontics, surgery, endodontics and prosthodontics.

Marie-Laure Pochon, CEO of the ACTEON Group, said: “Our ambition is to be the favoured partner of dentists throughout the world to help them transform their profession and improve the precision of their procedures to benefit the patient. Our research and development teams have developed ultrasonics and high-tech imaging appliances that enable practitioners to diagnose and treat in a more precise, less invasive manner, and to carry out procedures that were unimaginable ten years ago. The 760 employees of the group are extremely proud to play a full part in the dental technological revolution.”

During IDS, ACTEON is exhibiting its product portfolio at M060–N069 in Hall 10.2.
