NEUILLY-SUR-SEINE, France/COLOGNE, Germany: In France, only 35% of patients decide to go through with their treatment plan after a consultation with the dentist, possibly resulting in severe consequences for the patients’ oral and overall health. Allisone, a new patient communication tool that will be on display at the upcoming International Dental Show (IDS), can help address this issue through the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and a digitised patient experience.
According to The Need for Digital Dentistry Education: A Global Evaluation of Patients’ Awareness, Attitudes and Behaviors, a consumer survey that was commissioned by Carestream Dental in November 2019, 95% of patients agree that they receive better care with digital solutions, and two in three patients would consider switching to a digitally equipped dentist. The online study surveyed 7,000 nationally representative adults across seven global markets: Canada, China, France, Germany, India, the UK and the US.
Allisone is a software-as-a-service tool that uses AI technology, deep learning and computer vision, by means of which it recognises elements in the mouth on a dental radiograph. The results are made visible by a simple and intuitive interface that helps dentists to show the elements on the radiograph through colour coding. The main purpose of this functionality is to visually support the practitioner’s explanation about treatments to the patient. Allisone instantly produces the radiographic report, treatment plan and illustrations and adds educational sheets based on the treatment defined by the dentist. These elements can then be sent to the patient or printed out for him or her. Allisone is interoperable by design, integrates with other business software and is accessible from any practice computer.
IDS visitors can discover Allisone at Booth G050 in Hall 11.1 from 14 to 18 March in Cologne. More information can be found at www.allisone.ai.
