COLOGNE, Germany: The 38th International Dental Show (IDS), the most important trade fair for dentistry in the world, will take place from 12 to 16 March 2019 in Cologne. Companies operating in all areas of the dental industry worldwide have the opportunity to be part of this leading exhibition next year. The last IDS, in 2017, was the hitherto most successful edition of IDS. However, exhibitor participation for 2019 is heading towards a new record, and the optimisation of the hall layouts at the Koelnmesse fairground will provide an even higher quality visit, according to the organisers.

After the record results of IDS 2017, with 2,305 exhibitors from 59 countries and over 155,000 trade visitors from 157 countries, the organisers are anticipating even higher figures for IDS 2019.

With the integration of Hall 5, where several large suppliers of consumer prophylaxis, among others, will be exhibiting, IDS is creating the necessary capacity to meet the strong demand by exhibitors and visitors. Hall 5 fits in with the natural flow of the trade fair and is well connected to the new entrance on the Trade Fair Boulevard, the surrounding visitor parking and the shuttle bus station for the new trade fair car park. Furthermore, the additional hall further enhances the overall experience for IDS visitors: the wide aisles and the light-flooded passages provide an improved orientation and lend the event an even better arrangement. IDS 2019 will cover a total floor area of around 170,000 m².

The position of IDS as a world-leading international trade fair for the dental industry was confirmed by the results of an independent exhibitor and visitor survey on IDS 2017. The event brought together decision makers from around the world in the dental profession, dental laboratories, the specialist dental trade and the dental industry. This was a cause of great satisfaction among IDS exhibitors. Visitors were correspondingly satisfied: more than three-quarters of those surveyed are planning to visit IDS again in March 2019.

“The strong interest from home and abroad shows that IDS is the preferred and above all must-attend business platform for the global dental industry,” emphasised Mark Stephen Pace, Chairman of the Association of German Dental Manufacturers (VDDI).

IDS takes place in Cologne every two years and is organised by the Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Dental-Industrie, the commercial enterprise of the VDDI, and staged by Koelnmesse.
