COLOGNE, Germany: Exocad, an Align Technology company and a leading dental CAD/CAM software provider, recently announced its participation in the 2023 International Dental Show (IDS), which will take place from 14 to 18 March in Cologne. Exocad will be showcasing its newest 3.1 Rijeka software releases and will demonstrate planning, design and restoration workflows for dental technicians and dentists using its software.

“IDS is one of our most anticipated events because of the fantastic opportunity it provides to connect and hear from our global dental community,” said exocad CEO Tillmann Steinbrecher. “This year will be especially memorable as we move our expanded on-site activities into the exhibition centre’s brand-new Hall 1.”

At IDS, exocad has planned a diverse programme for attendees to experience and learn about its latest releases. With a focus on patient experience and case acceptance, exocad will offer its Smile Creator Experience, a full-smile design workshop that demonstrates how Smile Creator can help improve communication and predictability throughout the restoration workflow. Over 24 top application specialists will run 11 demonstration stations to answer questions and present exocad’s most recent software releases. Renowned dental trailblazers Drs Gulshan Murgai and Guilherme Saavedra will offer first-hand experience of how to effectively implement exocad software solutions into daily practice.

Visitors to IDS can find the exocad booth (#A040–C041) in Hall 1.2, right next to Align Technology’s booth. Additional information is available at exocad.com/ids.

New add-on module—xSNAP—for DentalCAD 3.1 Rijeka

Exocad now provides 3D-printable dental models with an integrated articulator. The new xSNAP add-on module for DentalCAD 3.1 Rijeka allows users to simulate physiological mandibular movements—protrusion, mediotrusion and laterotrusion—without the use of a conventional articulator. The xSNAP joint system is the first 3D-printable articulator integrated into dental models, enabling the simulation of natural jaw movement. The xSNAP attachments enable all articular paths and condylar guidance angles of 15°, 25°, 35° and 45°. Additionally, users can choose between a flat incisal plate and an incisal plate with a 30° inclination. The xSNAP articulator joins the models with an easy click mechanism and boasts precisely designed guideways.

“We’re happy to offer an even more cost-effective and accelerated workflow for dental models to further empower our customers,” said Novica Savic, chief commercial officer and general manager at exocad.

Exocad users also benefit from additional software features. The eliminates the need to subsequently articulate acrylic models. Joint guidance is dynamically adjustable for each printer and personal preferences. No additional supporting structures are necessary, because of the adaptive support of the xSNAP attachment.

The xSNAP module is available as a library for exocad’s Model Creator module in DentalCAD 3.1 Rijeka, the newest generation of exocad’s open-architecture CAD software for laboratories and clinics. Additional information is available at exocad.com.
