VDW: Two innovations for glide path creation and reciprocating motion

COLOGNE, Germany: Endodontic specialist VDW is presenting products for the entire treatment process, including preparation, irrigation, obturation and post-endodontic care in Cologne. “At IDS 2017, we are offering new solutions that save time, simplify procedures and ensure the long-term success of treatments. We have adapted all of these innovations to VDW’s entire system solution approach,” said Arjan De Roy, Commercial Development Director of VDW, at the press conference. “We demonstrate that endodontics as a system solution pays off.” During the show, VDW also announced two innovations: R-PILOT and RECIPROC direct.

Glide path creation reinvented
With the new R-PILOT, the endodontic specialist offers the first motor-driven glide path instrument with reciprocating motion, therefore simplifying the initial glide path creation. With increased safety and speed, as well as improved observation of the canal anatomy, dentists can gain more trust from their patients during endodontic treatment. With this innovation, VDW goes one step further in the use of reciprocating motion. R-PILOT offers dentists a solution for glide path creation that combines simplicity and efficiency in treatment. In combination with the RECIPROC single-file system, dentists benefit from the capability to prepare to full working length also in difficult cases.

New contra-angle handpiece with reciprocating motion
VDW’s portfolio of motors with reciprocating motion has now been expanded with RECIPROC direct. RECIPROC direct is the world’s first contra-angle handpiece with integrated reciprocating motion. Dental professionals in South America and Asia have been very successfully using RECIPROC direct since 2015. With it, dentists can begin canal preparation in just a few steps: the handpiece can easily be used with the existing motor on the treatment unit, as the reciprocating motion is integrated into the contra-angle handpiece. RECIPROC direct makes it easier to switch to modern reciprocating motion for root canal preparation, owing to its attractive entry-level price.
